Every Child Matters
I do hope you all had an opportunity of spending some quality time with your child(ren) during half-term. Perhaps it was a day out together as a family or a shopping trip into Norwich. Any time we spend with our children is so precious as they grow up far too quickly for my liking!
International School Award
I am delighted to inform parents we have attained The British Council 'International School Award' This is an outstanding achievement and I would like to put on record my thanks to Miss Skarin for her excellent leadership and to Mrs Hewitt who heads up our Citizenship Department for the determination to ensure all our students have a 'Think Global, Act Local' approach to their studies.Italy Trip
There are still a few spare places left on the Italy trip if anyone from Years 8, 9, 10 or 11 are interested. The trip takes place over 5 days and will be visiting places like Rome, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius! If you are interested then please see Miss Dawbarn, Mrs Hewitt or Mr Utting.
School Shop
For all parents and students that the school shop is open each Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm. The shop is now based permanently in the JB main tech block .Any students who have also ordered and paid for a black Y10 or Y11 sweatshirt who catch a school bus home will be allowed to leave P5 five minutes early to collect their order. This will help to reduce the stock in the shop, keep our students warm and make them look very smart!
Transition to High School
At the recent Year 7 Parents' Evening parents were asked to complete a questionnaire about their experience of the transition process from Junior to High School. I also had the opportunity to speak to many parents about how their son or daughter had settled in to the High School.I am pleased to report that parents were pleased with how quickly their child had adjusted to the demands of a large school.

School Footwear
At this time of year student’s footwear can often come under considerable attack from the elements. We feel that it is important to support parents in ensuring that students are able to maintain their uniform during these periods and to ensure this we have made the following arrangements.Procedure for a Student Going Home Unwell
If your son or daughter is unwell they need to come to the school office and complete a form. The school office staff will then make the necessary call to parents to arrange collection. We are finding that some students are making their own arrangements via mobile phone.
For your child’s safety we need the correct procedure to be followed.
