Sports Awards 2011
Unfortunately we were unable to hold our annual Sports Awards evening this year. However, the PE Department felt very strongly that students deserved to be recognised for their participation and effort, improvements and achievements in lessons. All award winners were congratulated and received their certificates and trophies in their End of Year celebratory assemblies. A special mention should go to the following students who all achieved particular success at either GCSE PE, BTEC Sport or A Level.
- Winner of the GCSE PE Award - Rebecca Knight
- Winner of the BTEC Sport Award - Nikki Plant
- Winner of the A Level PE Award - Brad Warr
Congratulations to all our award winners.

Sports Awards 2010
On Monday 12th July, Sprowston Community High School hosted their 6th Annual Sports Awards Evening. Over 200 students were nominated for awards and it was a pleasure to see so many of their friends and family in attendance to celebrate their successes. Although not all students were winners on the night, it should be noted that the honour of recognition itself was a fantastic achievement.
Unfortunately our guest speaker (ex-student Mr Mark Leman) was unable to attend. We were delighted that Mrs Jane Sexton, our school governor, kindly agreed to step in and remained on stage for the whole evening to give out our awards.
Throughout the evening students received awards for effort and improvement in PE lessons, contribution to leadership, attainment in exam subjects and excellence in sport throughout the last year. Our students also continued to shine on the night, with dynamic gymnastics and dance displays and a number of confident Captain’s reports.
The Main Award winners were:
- Outstanding Achievement in the Curriculum Award – Tom Coe
- KS3 Outstanding Achievement – Extra Curricular Award – Gemma Vickery
- KS3 Outstanding Achievement – Extra Curricular Award – Michael Painter
- Overall Outstanding Achievement – Extra Curricular Award – Emily Crowe
- Pete Braden Award – Megan Todd
Congratulations to all our nominees and award winners.

Thanks must go to Anne and Norma for the light refreshments at the end of the evening and to Mark Cotter for his photography of all our award winners.
Thank you also to the PE Department for their work throughout the year.
