Holocaust Education Project
On Sunday 11th March, Year 13 students Emma Algar and Daniel Gathergood will travel to London for their first stage in the Lessons from Auschwitz Project which is organised by the Holocaust Education Trust.
The Lessons from Auschwitz Project aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust for young people and to clearly highlight what can happen if prejudice and racism become acceptable. The visits to the former Nazi extermination and concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau are preceded and followed by half-day seminars in order to ensure an exceptional educational experience.
In applying to participate in this project Emma and Daniel have displayed a passion and commitment to understand the lessons from the Holocaust. We wish them well and look forward to hearing about their experiences and working with them to spread the message and take action on their return.
Classical Civilisations Trip

As part of our course on Roman Britain, myself, Mr. Arnander and the Year 13 Classical Civilisations class took a trip to London on Friday 20th February. We had a fantastic day looking at the remains of Roman London itself, including parts of the original Roman wall. We also visited the Museum of London which was a great journey through time from prehistoric London right through to today. We were lucky enough to meet and talk to the leader of London's largest archaelogical dig that took place in the 1970s around St Paul's catherdral. We had our lunch break in Covent Garden and finished the afternoon in the British Museum where we saw some amazing Roman and British-Celtic artefacts from floor mosaics and jewellery to treasure hoards and sculptures. All in all a very long but interesting and rewarding day in London.

Toyota Dealership in Norwich
On Wednesday 23 November Year 13 Business Studies students visited the Dingles Toyota Dealership in Norwich to carry out their own primary research on their examination case study in preparation for their external assessment in January 2012.
During the visit the students had a tour of the dealership and spoke with the principal dealer Simon Brydon about the global Toyota brand and the future of the motoring industry. The visit provided the students with a real insight into the Toyota Motor Corporation who are one of the leading global players in the car manufacturing industry.
The business students will next travel to London on the 8 December to visit the Bank of England museum and have a tour of the Olympic Park with a focus on public sector investment.
