Cathedral Art Project The Question of the Cross
The Question of the Cross

A group of Year 11 Art, R.S. and Philosophy and Ethics students took the opportunity recently to work with Norwich Cathedral Artist in Residence Cannon Jim Whitlock.  The aim was to produce artwork along the theme of  'The Question of The Cross.'

The students produced a giant hanging using inks, spray paints and oil pastels.  The hanging included image and text written by the students.  To accompany this large hanging were several powerful text based art works using images from recent newspaper reports from the UK and world wide.

The work was displayed in the Cathedral Nave in the lead up to Easter.  Students were invited to the hoisting ceremony with the Dean and other Cathedral officials.

A special thanks goes to all of the students and Art, Media, R.S. and Philosophy and Ethics staff for volunteering their time.
