We are on the brink of a very exciting opportunity at the school and we need your help. Two of our teachers, Mr John Allerhand and Mr John Cordeaux entered a national educational video competition organised by O2 Learn. Mr A and Mr C, won two of the fortnightly prizes with “Reincarnation” and “Matters of Life and Death” and so found themselves amongst eighteen schools in the semi-final. This was largely due to voting support from the students at the school.

Over the summer holiday a panel of educational experts examined the eighteen videos and reduced them to a final eight.  Both of the videos were chosen to be in the final eight. We are the only school in the country with two videos in the final.  We want to put Sprowston on the national educational map and we want to win the first prize of £100 000 for the school to build a multi-media O2 complex for the school and support the foundation of a new Sixth Form Centre at Sprowston.

How Can You Help?  Each of the films will be awarded points from the panel of experts according to the educational value of the film.  These points will then be added to points gained from a public vote for the two weeks starting Wednesday September 14 and ending on Tuesday September 27 2011. This is where you come in. O2 have clearly stated that each voter has only one vote and we want you to make it count.

To do this you will need to go on to the O2 Learn home page on or after the 14 September and follow the new voting instructions. Register with O2 Learn; “verify” as instructed; and then please vote for “THE REINCARNATION SONG”. This is the video that we believe can win. Watch it again and sing along! Please try not to vote for the other video “Matters of ...” because it will split the vote.

1.  We need all students and staff to vote.
2.  We need all parents and guardians to vote.
3.  We need you to spread the word so that we can maximise the Sprowston voting potential.

Results will be announced by O2 Learn on Friday October 14 2011.

COME ON SPROWSTON!

Many thanks

Mr A & Mr C
