Paris, France trip: Update 02 July
Tuesday, 03 July 2012 07:48
Mr. Causon has sent us an update on the school trip to Paris:
We've arrived safely and settled in well to the hotel - overlooking Paris. Some people have a bedroom view of the Eiffel Tower! Drive down was good, managed to stop at Nausica Sea-Life centre. Journey to the hotel gave us chance for a guided tour of Paris by night which was a good taster for today's activities. We've all just had breakfast - pain au chocolat, crepes, fruit, continental, cereal, coffee, juice, and more (not each) - now ready for another long day!

Friday, 22 June 2012 00:00
Today we will be leaving Santillana at 14.30. Everyone has free time in the town until then. All is well - belongings, health etc.
Yesterday we visited the Picos de Europa in brilliant sunshine. Most went to the summit on the cable car, we stopped in the pretty village of Potes on the way back down the mountain and then visited San Vicente de la Barquera on the coast. After dinner in the late evenings, the kids have been playing football with some Spanish children outside in the park. All very happy!

Year 7 & 8 Parents' Evening: Results of Feedback Questionaire now available
Monday, 18 June 2012 07:53
We are pleased to publish the results of the questionnaires that parents completed on Y7 and Y8 parents evening. We take your views very seriously and we are keen to respond to them.
We are delighted that so many of you feel that your children are safe and well looked after at this school and that we are meeting your child's needs. A minority of you have expressed some concerns over behaviour in some classes. We work hard to ensure that our behaviour management systems are fair, consistent and rigorous such that children's learning is not disrupted. We will continue to do this. Where parents and students do have specific concerns about particular lessons, we would very much like to hear from you so that we can put in the necessary support measures to improve behaviour and hence learning.

Cover Supervisors: Myths Debunked
Monday, 16 April 2012 00:00
Sprowston High School employs six Cover Supervisors, but what is a Cover Supervisor and what do they do? Common myths about cover lessons are that they are ‘easy’ or irrelevant, that they are set by the Cover Supervisors, that Cover Supervisors are ‘not proper teachers’ and that cover lessons are a good excuse to behave poorly and waste time.
What is a Cover Supervisor?

Sometimes this is because Teachers are ill and sometimes because they are away from their class for another reason, maybe at a meeting or on a course.
