Here at Sprowston, we want to give you the edge over other young people when it comes to applying for employment or further education and learning.  That's we give you the opportunity to take part in 1 week's work experience, because regardless of ability, we want all our students to be successful in whatever you choose to do.

So what does work experience mean for you?

It allows you to gain some experience in an area of interest to you and allowing to at first hand, see the different roles, skills and  qualities needed to do that particular job. You can then use this experience for you application forms and CV's.

So how does it happen?

Over the years, we have found that students gain the most when they have identified a potential employer themselves. By doing this, you know best what kind of placement you would be happy in and find more interesting, that way, you are more likely to get what you want, assuming that the employer agrees to take you on.

It is important to remember that occasionally, employers do pull out of the placement at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, so have a back up plan just to be on the safe side.
