Wednesday provided so many varied activities focused to develop learning skills and increase everyone's engagement.

Years 9 and 11 students also had the opportunity to understand how to improve and take the next steps in their learning.

Thanks to everyone for making the 'Enhancement Day' a truly wonderful experience!

Year 9 Options

Wednesday, 10 March 2010 08:38

I am delighted that our Year 9 students took their Options process so seriously. Only 1 missing form out of a total of 286! Wow!

I wish to thank Ms Dawbarn, Mrs Smith and the tutor team for their excellent 'care, guidance and support'. A great team effort.

Concert for Ella-Grace

Sunday, 28 February 2010 14:02

I am delighted to hear that the concert for Ella Grace was a magnificent success with over 300 in attendance and £1571 raised on the night. Combined with the non uniform day contribution the grand total is £2726!

A huge 'thank you' to Ms Wood and the Year 10 girls who were incredible from start to finish with their leadership and organisation of this excellent community event for a worthy cause.

Don't forget to purchase your tickets, now reduced in price as well, for the concert on Saturday - why don't you come with a group of friends and have an enjoyable musical evening for a very good cause.

STOP PRESS! We have just learned that Alpa Patel from GMTV Anglia News will be hosting the evening. Go the the School Office and get your tickets as soon as you can!

Welcome Back

Monday, 22 February 2010 09:39

I hope all is well with you and your families and that you all enjoyed your half term holiday.

I wish to 'thank you' for your support in improving our attendance. At present the number of persistent absentees (those not in school for an average one day a week or more) has been drastically reduced, and as you well know good attendance and punctuality are the first requirements for doing well at school and later on in life when at work!

Have a great half term!

Haiti Day!

Friday, 12 February 2010 08:37

So far today at 12.30 we have collected £1310.16 and we are still counting the money coming in - with only 3 hours to go!  Come along to Student Reception at lunchtime if you are able to donate some more.  Our aim today is to raise as much money as possible for the families in Haiti ... dig deep into your pockets as every penny will make a difference!

The monies collected will go to the Medecins Sans Frontieres Charity.

Let us think and act for children and young adults who don't have a school to attend today in Haiti.

Wonderful response for Haiti non-uniform day

Friday, 12 February 2010 14:52

The total collected today for Haiti is £1541.85 which is a fantastic achievement, thank you to everyone who has contributed.

This brings the total donated to our charities since September 2006 to an amazing £30,333.14!

Have a great half term everyone.

Thanks for your support!

Thursday, 11 February 2010 08:47

Isn't it great news that Year 8 raised £135.49 through the 'Hats for Haiti' appeal!  I was also very pleased to see so many parents and students at the Year 12 Parents' Evening.  Today, Year 11 have their Mock Results period 5!

Don't forget our non-uniform day for Haiti on Friday ... let us think and act for others who don't have a school to attend!

A busy week ahead

Monday, 08 February 2010 09:11

We have a very busy week ahead of us.  I wish for everyone to work hard in every lesson and achieve their best at all times.  Please make the best of every opportunity your classteachers and your form tutor offer you.  Engage in class discussions, self assess your work, go back through your exercise books/folders and ensure you know what you've already learned and what work you have to do over the half term holiday.

I look forward to seeing Year 12 students and their parents at the Parents' Evening on Wednesday.  Don't forget our non-uniform day for Haiti on Friday ... let us think and act for others who don't have a school to attend!
