During our second Collapsed Curriculum Day Year 7 worked in collaboration with the Creative Partnership agency in order to develop their story writing skills.
Students were treated to an assembly from a professional story teller who gave specific advice about creating stories for an audience. Previously, our feeder schools had completed questionnaires about their favourite types of stories, which helped inform our year 7 students planning.
Each student created their own story on a large leaf which was then hung on a tree in the English area. Students practiced their story telling skills and voted on their favourite stories. Winning stories will be read to the feeder schools as the project continues.
Over three hundred stories are hung on the tree in the English area and can be read by all students.
