Fourth Sprowston Community Film Festival
Students will soon be seeing their film work shown at a major cinema in Norwich. Over sixty young people from five Sprowston schools have been busy making their own short films to show at this years’ Sprowston Community Film Festival. With the theme of “East meets East” set as the starting point for ideas, the pupils have been supported by local filmmaker Robert Vaughan to shoot and create films around this topic.
The project has also inspired contributions from older pupils and adults. Groups from the Sprowston Community High School have been working with both Robert and local animator David Lloyd, and David has also been working with adults from the Sprowston Community Film Group and the Chinese Community Methodist Church on their film, making this a truly intergenerational, multicultural project.

The films will be shown at the Film Festival, which is taking place at the Hollywood Cinema, Anglia Square on Thursday 30th April. Doors will open at 6:30pm, the event is free, but entrance is strictly by ticket only. Tickets are being distributed to everyone involved in the project and their families, but a small number of returns may be available from the 27th April.
If you are interested in attending the event, but are not due to receive a ticket, please contact the SCHS office on 01603 485266 and ask to speak to Debbie Jay or Olivia Dean.
