Our Vision of Arts in the Community

Wednesday, 21 January 2009 11:21

Through the Arts we have developed many strong and positive relationships in our learning community to share, extend and provide high quality learning opportunities to our community members.

Our Vision

Our vision is to work in collaboration with our school community, partner schools and community groups, alongside arts professionals to offer state of the art facilities, resources and share good practice to enable all members of the community to participate and enjoy a wide range of learning opportunities through the Arts.

Arts School Partnership Group

Planned Community Arts programmes and events are devised with our Arts Partnership groups in consultation with school Governors, the students Arts Forum, the Arts Steering Group and staff. The Arts School Partnership Group is made up of representatives from our family of Junior and Infant Schools and The Arts Community Partnership Group is made up of local groups including; Sprowston Heritage, Sprowston Library and The Sprowston Parish Council. Regular postings of information to parents and the wider community are published on the schools website, newsletters home and are displayed in the school foyer.

Views & Feedback

Community views are gathered regularly through evaluations from community members who participate in projects such as; The Sprowston Community Choir, The Community Film and Media group, Sprowston Archives project and Performance Arts Groups. Views of performances and special events are also gathered through; recorded comments in our audience events book, audience feedback and by letters from the public. These are regularly shared with parents and the wider community through the school Bulletin, The Arts Newsletter and The Sprowston Review.

Comments from some members who participate in our community projects such as our Community Choir, record that these groups can act as lifelines, as not only do they provide a shared meeting and learning space, but enjoyment, friendship and support.
