On June 15 students, families and friends enjoyed the celebration of student achievements in film making at the, Community Film Awards Evening. Films by partner schools and high school students were produced on the theme of 'Dreams and Aspirations’, in partnership with film-makers Robert Vaughan, David Lloyd and BBC Norfolk. Taking part were students from; Sprowston Junior School, White Woman Lane Junior School, Woodland View Junior and Sprowston Community High School. During the evening a special award was present to Lee Cooper, who received the high schools’ first ever Platinum Arts Award for his contribution and commitment to animation and the arts. Lee was one of the original members of the schools animation club which produced the award winning ‘Brains and Bananas’ and this year he helped lead the animation club.
Students and members of the audience enjoyed the show and Peter White from the East Anglian Film Archive praised the quality of the student work; ‘Strength in story-telling, some brilliant examples of technical and time consuming animation. Enjoyed the obvious “Aardman conversation pieces” and influences. The students’ work is a great credit to the school. Bravo"
