A magnificent celebration

The Year 11 Prom at Sprowston Manor never ceases to amaze me!  It has grown to represent a magnificent celebration of the children's development from when they joined the school into 'young adults'.  It was an absolute joy to witness last Thursday so many younger brothers and sisters, parents, friends of the family, grandparents, and so on, make the evening such an occasion.

A huge thank you goes to Miss Wood, Mrs Betts, the tutors and the Student Prom Committee for making it happen ... and as for the 'Leavers Assembly' - WOW!

Request for Holiday Absence

It is not school policy to authorise absence for any student whose attendance falls below the school target of 94%. At certain times of the year it would also be unacceptable for us to authorise holiday absence.

Please consider carefully how taking your child out of school will affect his/her education.

Road Safety

In the interests of safety can we remind parents  that stopping at the front of the school  and coming onto the school site, to drop off or pick up students, causes unnecessary congestion and has previously led to several near misses.

In order to avoid any danger to our students can we please remind all parents and carers that if it is necessary to drive your child to school, please use the shop parades at either end of Cannerby Lane as more appropriate drop zones.

Book Tokens

Please could parents, family and friends collect tokens from The Times and The Sunday Times starting this month.

Please give  the tokens to the school - drop off boxes at reception and in the library/reading room.

We can exchange tokens for free books. Thank you so much
Ms A. Dunford
Librarian

Chewing Gum

As you will be aware, we are constantly striving to improve the quality of our physical environment in order to show how much we value our students. A particular challenge to this environment is the damage caused by chewing gum.

In light of this we are currently undertaking a consultation on the proposition to ban chewing gum completely from the school site.
